Social Tables (by Cvent)

Social Tables (by Cvent) Integration Guide

Overview

This guide explains how to connect Bridged with Social Tables (by Cvent) to read event content including venue layouts, floor plans, seating assignments, and attendee seating data. The integration supports reading this data for activation, qualification, and nurture playbooks where event logistics and attendee seating context are needed.

Social Tables is Cvent's event diagramming and seating management platform (now referred to as Cvent Event Diagramming). It provides tools for creating 3-dimensional floor plans, managing seating assignments, and visualizing venue layouts .

Primary Use Case: Read Event Content

For Bridged's event experience integrations, the primary use case is reading event-related data, including:

Data Type

Use in Bridged

Floor plans / venue layouts

Answer attendee questions about venue layout and room locations

Seating assignments

Provide attendees with table and seat numbers for events like galas or dinners

Table locations

Help VIP attendees locate their tables

Venue space information

Provide room names, capacities, and service areas

⚠️ Integration Limitations

Social Tables is primarily a diagramming and visualization tool, not a data warehouse. Its core value is visual floor planning rather than programmatic data access. Key limitations:

Limitation

Impact

No public REST API

Social Tables does not offer a documented public API for programmatic data extraction

Native integration exists only with Cvent Event Registration

Two-way sync works between Social Tables and Cvent's registration system, but not with external platforms

Data export limited to CSV

Seating assignments can be exported via CSV (bulk import/export), but not via real-time API

Connection Methods

Given the limitations, here are the available options:

Recommendation: Use CSV export for seating data. If you also use Cvent Event Registration, consider pulling attendee and seating data through Cvent's APIs instead (refer to the Cvent integration guide).

Step 1: Export Seating Data from Social Tables

Social Tables supports CSV export for seating assignments :

  1. Log in to your Social Tables (Cvent Event Diagramming) account

  2. Open the event/diagram you want to export data from

  3. In the attendee panel, click the three-dot menu

  4. Select Import/Export Seat Assignments

  5. Export the seating data as a CSV file

The exported CSV typically includes:

  • Attendee names

  • Table numbers

  • Seat assignments

  • Any custom seating fields

Note: To export seating data, an attendee list must first be imported from Cvent Event Registration .

Step 2: Alternative Path via Cvent Ecosystem

If your organization uses Cvent Event Registration alongside Social Tables, you can leverage the native two-way integration :

  1. Connect Event Diagramming to your Cvent account

  2. Import attendee list from Event Registration into Diagramming

  3. Seating assignments made in Diagramming sync back to Cvent Event Registration

  4. Use the Cvent REST API (covered in the Cvent integration guide) to read attendee and seating data

This path provides more programmatic access since Cvent has a REST API, while Social Tables does not .

Step 3: Manual CSV Import to Bridged (Fallback)

For automated or recurring data pulls:

  1. Export CSV from Social Tables (Step 1)

  2. Upload CSV to Bridged via the dashboard or API

  3. Configure mapping between CSV columns and Bridged profile attributes

Bulk sync limit: Each bulk operation is limited to 50 records per request.

Common Use Cases

Playbook

How Event Data Is Used

Activation

Read attendee seating assignments to send personalized table location reminders via WhatsApp

Qualification Agent

Read VIP seating status (e.g., head table) for lead prioritization

Nurture & Conversion

Provide attendees with their table and seat numbers during post-event follow-up conversations

Example Conversation Powered by Social Tables Data

When an attendee asks "What table am I at?", Bridged:

  1. Reads seating assignment data from CSV export

  2. Returns table number and location

When a lead asks "Where is the head table located?", Bridged:

  1. Reads floor plan data (if available via manual input)

  2. Provides venue location information

Security & Permissions

  • Social Tables uses email-based authentication for student/planner accounts

  • For enterprise users, contact Cvent support at support@socialtables.com

  • CSV exports should be handled securely and deleted after import

  • All data transfers should use encrypted channels
