Once you've created your Meta Business Portfolio and WhatsApp Business Account, you're ready to connect your account with Bridged.
Bridged uses Meta's secure Embedded Signup experience, allowing you to authorize access to your WhatsApp Business Account in just a few steps. Throughout this process, you'll remain within Meta's official authentication flow, and you'll only be asked to grant the permissions required for Bridged to manage your WhatsApp integration.
Step 1: Open the Integrations Page
Sign in to your Bridged Dashboard.
From the left navigation menu:
Expand Settings.
Click Integrations.
This page allows you to connect Bridged with supported communication platforms.
Step 2: Open the Communication Platforms Tab
On the Integrations page, select the Communication Platforms tab.
This section displays all communication channels that can be connected to Bridged.
Step 3: Connect WhatsApp
Click Connect WhatsApp to begin the integration process.
This launches Meta's secure Embedded Signup flow in a new window.
Step 4: Sign In with Facebook
If you're not already signed in, Meta will ask you to log in using your Facebook account.
Note: Make sure you sign in with an account that has administrator access to your Meta Business Portfolio.
After signing in, click Continue to proceed.
Step 5: Select Your Business Portfolio
Meta will display all Business Portfolios that your Facebook account has access to.
Choose the Business Portfolio you want to connect with Bridged.
Step 6: Select Your WhatsApp Business Account
Next, choose the WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) associated with the selected Business Portfolio.
You have two options:
Use an existing WhatsApp Business Account
Create a new WhatsApp Business Account
A) Create a New WhatsApp Business Account (Optional)
If you don't already have a WhatsApp Business Account (WABA), you can create one directly during the setup process without leaving the integration flow.
Select Create a new WhatsApp Business Account, then provide the required business information:
Business Name – Enter the name of your business. This will be used to identify your WhatsApp Business Account.
Business Category – Choose the category that best describes your business.
Country – Select the country where your business operates.
Website – Enter your business website (optional but recommended).
Time Zone – Select your business's primary time zone.
Once you've completed the required fields, click Next to create your new WhatsApp Business Account and continue with the setup.
Note: This information is used to create your WhatsApp Business Account and can be updated later from your Meta Business settings if needed.
B) Already created a new WhatsApp Business Account?
If you've followed the Account Setup section earlier in this guide, simply select your existing account from the list and continue.
If you don't yet have a WhatsApp Business Account, you can create one directly from this screen or refer back to the Account Setup chapter for detailed instructions.
Step 7: Add Your WhatsApp Phone Number
After selecting your WhatsApp Business Account, you'll be asked to configure the phone number that will be used for messaging.
Meta provides two options.
Option 1: Use a Display Name Only
This option allows Meta to generate a virtual WhatsApp number for your business.
With this option:
Customers will only see your approved business display name.
No phone number verification is required.
The virtual number can only be used for WhatsApp messaging.
It cannot receive phone calls or SMS messages.
Your display name will be submitted to Meta for approval, so ensure it follows Meta's display name guidelines and accurately represents your business.
Option 2: Use a New or Existing WhatsApp Number
If you prefer to use your own business phone number, select this option.
You can either:
Add a brand-new phone number, or
Choose a previously verified number associated with your Business Portfolio.
If you're adding a new number, Meta will send a verification code via SMS or voice call.
If you select an already verified number, no additional verification is required.
You'll also be asked to enter your WhatsApp Business Display Name.
Important: Your display name is reviewed by Meta. Choose a name that clearly represents your business and complies with Meta's display name guidelines.
Step 8: Review the Permissions
Before completing the setup, Meta will display a summary of the permissions that Bridged is requesting.
These permissions allow Bridged to:
Connect to your WhatsApp Business Account
Send and receive WhatsApp messages on your behalf
Manage your WhatsApp messaging integration
Review the information and click Continue to grant access.
Step 9: Connecting Your Account
After confirming the permissions, Bridged will automatically connect to your WhatsApp Business Account.
During this process, you'll see a Connecting... screen while the integration is being completed.
Once finished, you'll see a confirmation indicating that your WhatsApp Business Account has been successfully connected.
Step 10: Add a Payment Method (If Required)
If you've created a new WhatsApp Business Account, Meta may ask you to add a payment method before you can start sending business-initiated template messages.
Click Add Payment Method and follow Meta's instructions to complete the billing setup.
Note: Existing WhatsApp Business Accounts with an active payment method can skip this step.
Step 11: Complete the Setup
After all required steps are complete, click Finish.
Your WhatsApp Business Account is now connected to Bridged and ready to use.
Important: Do not close the Embedded Signup window before clicking Finish. Closing the window manually cancels the authorization process, and Bridged won't be able to access your WhatsApp Business Account.
You're All Set! 🎉
