⚒️ New Account Setup

Before connecting your WhatsApp account with Bridged, you'll first need to create a Meta Business Portfolio and a WhatsApp Business Account (WABA). These are the official Meta assets used to manage your business presence and WhatsApp messaging.

If you already have existing WABA Account, please check this: Already Have a WhatsApp Business Account?

If you already have both, you can skip this section and continue Connecting Your Account with Bridged.

  1. Create a Meta Business Portfolio

Visit Meta Business Suite and sign in using your Facebook account. If this is your first time using Meta Business tools, you'll be prompted to create a new Business Portfolio.

Meta Business Portfolio.

During setup, Meta will ask for basic business information such as your business name, business email address, and country. If you have a business website, we recommend adding it as well.

Once you've completed the form, Meta will create your Business Portfolio, which acts as the central place for managing your business assets, including Facebook Pages, Instagram accounts, and WhatsApp Business Accounts.

Next Step:

At this point, you can continue with 2. Bridged Setup (One-Click Integration).

During the one-click integration, Meta will guide you through creating or selecting your WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) and configuring your business phone number—all within the same setup flow.

2. Create a WhatsApp Business Account (Optional)

You can do this step by yourself in your Meta business account or through the Bridged dashboard

After your Business Portfolio has been created, open Business Settings from the left navigation menu.

Navigate to: Accounts → WhatsApp Accounts

Click Add, then choose Create a WhatsApp Business Account. Meta will ask you to provide a name for your WhatsApp Business Account and confirm the business it should belong to.

Your WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) is where your phone numbers, business profile, message templates, and messaging settings will be managed.

3. Add a Phone Number

When setting up your WhatsApp Business Account, Meta provides two ways to add a phone number:

Use an Existing Business Phone Number

If you already have a business phone number that you'd like to use for WhatsApp, you can register it during setup. Meta will send a one-time verification code (OTP) via SMS or voice call to verify that you own the number.

Important: A phone number can only be connected to one WhatsApp Business Account at a time. If it's currently registered with another WhatsApp Business Account or managed by another provider, it must first be removed before it can be used again.

Get a Meta-Hosted Phone Number

If you don't have a business phone number yet, you can choose to let Meta automatically provision one for your WhatsApp Business Account. In this case, no OTP verification is required, as the phone number is created and verified by Meta during the setup process.

You'll be asked to provide a Display Name for your WhatsApp account. This name is shown to customers when they interact with your business on WhatsApp.

Important: Your Display Name should accurately represent your business and closely match the name of your Meta Business Portfolio or your publicly known business name. Display names that don't meet Meta's naming guidelines may be rejected during the review process.

You're Ready 🎉

Congratulations! Your Meta Business Portfolio and WhatsApp Business Account are now set up and ready to be connected with Bridged.

Your WhatsApp Business Account should look similar to the example below. This is where you'll manage your business phone numbers, messaging settings, templates, and other WhatsApp-related configurations.

Within your WhatsApp Business Account, you'll typically find:

  • Phone Numbers – The business phone numbers registered with your account that can send and receive WhatsApp messages.

  • Message Templates – Pre-approved templates used to initiate conversations with customers outside the 24-hour messaging window.

  • WhatsApp Manager – A central dashboard for managing your business profile, messaging assets, account quality, and configuration.

  • Settings – Business information, users, permissions, and other account-level configuration options.

Don't worry if some of these sections are currently empty—they'll be configured as part of the Bridged integration.

In the next section, we'll connect your WhatsApp Business Account to Bridged using our secure one-click integration, allowing you to start sending messages and automating customer conversations.

Already Have a WhatsApp Business Account?

If you already have a WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) set up, you don't need to create a new one. Before proceeding with the Bridged integration, we recommend verifying that your existing account is ready.

Your account should meet the following requirements:

  • Your WhatsApp Business Account is active and accessible from your Meta Business Portfolio.

  • At least one phone number is registered with the account and is in a Connected status.

  • You have Administrator access to both the Meta Business Portfolio and the WhatsApp Business Account.

  • The account is not currently managed by another WhatsApp Business Solution Provider (BSP) such as Twilio, MessageBird, Gupshup, Interakt, or similar platforms. If another provider has messaging control over your account, you'll need to remove that integration before connecting with Bridged.

Your WhatsApp Business Account should look similar to the example below.

Required

  • A verified WhatsApp Business Account (WABA)

  • The phone number connected to the WABA must be verified

  • The WABA must be directly managed by your organization

Bridged’s Knowledge Agent will respond to all incoming user queries received on this verified WhatsApp number.

Ideal Setup: Payment Method (Credit Line) managed by Organization itself.

Ideal Setup: Atleast one Phone number and Display Name is verified.

Important Restrictions

The integration will NOT work if:

  • The WABA is connected to any third-party provider

  • The WABA uses a third-party credit line

  • Another platform has administrative or messaging control over the account

Examples include:

  • Twilio

  • Brevo

  • MessageBird

  • Gupshup

  • Interakt

  • Any BSP (Business Solution Provider) managing the WABA

Example of Unsupported Configuration

Third-Party Credit Line Connected

This indicates that another provider controls the billing/credit line for the WhatsApp account.

Third-Party Platform Has Full Control

Example: Twilio or another provider has full access/control over the WABA account.

The Impact

If a third-party application controls the WABA account, Bridged’s Knowledge Agent will not be able to:

  • Read incoming WhatsApp messages

  • Send automated responses

  • Broadcast template messages

  • Access WhatsApp Cloud API directly

To proceed with integration, the WABA must be free from third-party control.

Once you've confirmed your account is ready, continue to the next section where we'll connect your WhatsApp Business Account to Bridged using our secure one-click integration.
